I have been a way for awhile, and for a pretty good reason :-). My husband and I welcomed our first child into the world on April 7, 2017! Chloe Jane Nieslowski graced our presence on April 7th at 10:53 AM, weighing 7 lbs 4 oz. Her beautiful head of black hair and big beautiful eyes stole our hearts the moment we met her.
It is true when they say a child steals your heart the moment they enter into the world. The birth was rewarding, I felt powerful, but when they laid her on my chest, a powerful emotion that I can’t explain, swept over me. My breath was heavy and my eyes welled up with tears! That instant connection and that warm embrace made time stand still for a moment. As they cleaned Chloe up, all we heard was her sweet purr.
It has only been two and a half weeks, and I must be honest, the first two weeks are not easy. Adjusting to the selfless lifestyle and being cooped up at home was not an easy thing to get used to. It was hard, emotional and sometimes all I wanted was a hot shower. As we approach week three, I feel like I have adjusted to the new lifestyle (a bit), and I love motherhood. There are so many things to learn but to finally start to embrace this little peace of heaven, makes my heart sing. This moment will go by fast, so I want to hold on tight as long as I can. I want to swing her in my arms as long as I can, grip her fingers, and give her as many kisses as I can. Chloe Jane, you are loved and will be loved for ever and ever!
