About two weeks ago I got this itch to go go go. I want to see the world, experience new things and meet new people. The only way to do that is to just do it. So I made an executive decision to get on a plan. I initially planned on traveling along to LA, but when I mentioned it to my mom, she was ready to travel too. Although, my mom and I always said we wanted to experience Las Vegas together. We both love to gamble and we love a social atmosphere, so we did! Two weeks later we were on a plan headed for Las Vegas.
My mom had visited Las Vegas before, but this was my first time. We stayed at The Flamingo hotel and Casino. It was the best spot, right smack dab in the center of the Las Vegas Strip. The moment we arrived, we walked around the hotel and decided to put our first $5 in the slot machines. The first night was are best 🙂 From there, we just had fun. Day two we ate some breakfast and hopped onto the bus to go to downtown Vegas (AKA Fremont). As we headed back to the Flamingo, we bounced from hotel to hotel taking in the different decor. The ones that stuck out the most were the Bellagio with its very water light show, garden center and yummy chocolate shop!
The Cosmopolitan had an amazing Chandelier bar that stretched to the top of the three story ceiling, and Ceasar’s Palace. Every Hotel and Casino we stopped in, we took out a little souvenir, a book of matches :-)! On Sunday night, my mom took me to an old favorite restaurant of her and her moms, Battista’s Hole in the Wall. When my mom went to Vegas about 20 years ago with her mom, they found this Hole in the Wall, and during their visit, an accordion player went around and serenaded them. My mom stopped at this restaurant every time she came to Vegas, so it was only fitting for her and I to stop too. During our visit the same accordion player stopped at our table! What a neat experience. The waiter even let us leave our names on the wall, so when we return we can think back on the last time we stopped at the Hole in the Wall.
There was so much to see, and so much more to see for next time. A trip I am so glad we took, I was able to experience Vegas, and I wouldn’t want to do it with anyone else!
Please enjoy our trip 🙂
warmly Jodi
