My Studio Office

I have been waiting to be able to share with everyone my little slice of paradise.  A piece of our home that is a place I can cozy up in and feel secure, feel determined and feel happy in.

We bought our home back in May of 2013, and one of my requests was to have an extra room for my office.  I wanted to be able to focus, be inspired, and be motivated.  There it was, a little spare room off in the corner, perfect size, hard wood floors, white walls, waiting for me to paint them.

I never had a theme in mind, no color, I just wanted a mood.  I already had the hard wood floors, and a perfect desk.  My decor started with a brown chair on sale at Walmart, from there we received some awesome antique items from our wedding that spoke to me.  I knew that I wanted my office to hold these items, items that told a story.  My work has the purpose of telling a story, so it seemed perfect to pair my work with a workspace that told its own.  I want to be inspired, what not a better way to be inspired to tell a story than to decorate with items that tell their own stories.

After I knew the feel I wanted, I was able to add the perfect items; from a wool rug to an old hutch.  Old books, old windows, shutters and old cameras topped off my space.

I love my space, its cozy, smells amazing and is peaceful!  Enjoy my warmth!

The image above and to the left is of my very first photography project in Collage.  I Love to look back at it and see what I started, see what I saw again and see where I have come.

Forgot to mention one of my favorite additions, our puppy Jewels, she is truly our gem!
